About

By Zoe Leigh is where my movement practice becomes visual.

Much of the work begins not with an idea, but with a physical impulse — a line drawn in motion, repeated, disrupted, layered. I often describe it as doing the doodle. From there, the images evolve through digital manipulation, print and fabric, revealing unexpected textures, patterns and forms.

I’m drawn to shapes and the space that sits between them — where structure softens, where lines blur, where something organic begins to emerge. Some works feel like roots, others like currents, creatures, skin, or fragments of landscape.

This practice sits alongside my work in dance theatre, but offers a quieter, more intimate space for reflection, curiosity and playing with patterns.
